Reece Novella is our hero

Reece is a 20 year old sunshine coast bodyboarder who not only shreds in the ocean but his quick wit is often underrated. Reece is a close friend of Whales Life & we would like to share with you his most recent exploits.............

This email banter occurred following a recent Western Australian surf trip with Reece Novella & Ben Hanson with Ian Stewart filming

Pilgrims flock to the Guru

Mike Stewart is in town for the Shark Island Challenge & dropped into BSC on Sunday to meet with his followers.

Herein lies a face of wisdom, knowledge, innovation & extreme influence.

No matter what you ride, he is regarded as one of the most respected watermen in the business.

Mucho Respecto.

Nouvelle-Calédonie

I recently flew to New Caledonia for business (tough gig) & had the chance to explore a little with the lens... It's a uniquely original place with a population of mainly French & Melanesian.
J'espere que vous aimez les photos!

PUERTO

Who is? What is? La Familia...?
I guess it's direct meaning is simple, "the family".  La Familia became another name for the whaley crew a few years ago when we realised how much fucking time we spend together. We pretty much live in each others pockets, and it seems a core group emerged; The family, it may sound gay but at the end of the day the whaley boys over the past few years have formed a bond tighter than friendship.
The above picture was something written on the house blackboard over a year ago, this board gets changed every week in the wej house, a different whaley lej or whaley visitor leaving a message for the coming week for the crew to kinda ponder on. This black board message pretty much sums up the whaley attitude, "if you die i die thats the way it is" kinda deal. La Familia.

some may scoff, and scream LAME. but those who do are just jealous lonely fuckers who have no idea what family or friendship even smells like..

MAX IN MAIN EVENT!!!

Shralping his first Shark Island challenge MAX ARENT is looking to destroy everything in his path.

Goodluck Mort!

Friday I'm in Love

It's so easy to fall in love on a Friday......the working week is winding down and for the fortunate few who don't work Friday's the weekend has already arrived. Greeted by blue skies the first call of duty is to setup the new ping pong table followed by a swim or some Tiger Woods on PS2.

Brooklyn (Puerto's Black Jeep) drives me & Puerto to the driving range and arrives just as I finish my last mouthful of chicken cashew nut from chilli club (Robertson Rd Newport). Puerto & I talk business whilst rocketting these small yellow balls straight (or hooked) down the fairway.

A late surf & ping pong preceeds a Pamly RSL dinner. We play pool with Manly slowly overcoming the Titans in the background. The victory is slightly sweeter since Cade and Reece are still riding high over QLDs origin win....Fuken cane toads!

Maxy is rarely the first to leave but his maiden shark island challenge takes precedence. Good luck to the kid. The rest of us hang out for a few more games of pool and call it a night.

A complete feeling of relaxation remains after a leisurely Friday in Whale Town. The time is right for all to fall in love.....Ladies please don your Sunday best this weekend because the noblemen from Whale Beach will be wearing their hats, gloves and perhaps cowboy boots, ready to impress.
